Chlamydia Statistics
The number of annual reported cases of Chlamydia infextions have been constantly increasing over the last decade or so but over the last few years there has been an increased awarebness and a slight stall as indicated in the graph below.

The Dept of health set up NCSP - National Chlamydia Screening Programme. Close to 2 million people have been screened for chlamydia with special emphasis on youngsters in the age group 15-24.Have a look at some of the statistics that were plotted from one of the screening sessions below.

As you may notice, what was immediately apparent was that people with lesser sexual partners had a better chance of not contracting chlamydia. The pattern continued with married people being less infected perhaps due to them being more with one sexual partner than those who are single. It maty not be so apparent in this study but on a large scale anal;ysis it was found that black ethnic groups are at higher risks. Also, condom usage makes a huge difference as you would imagine.
